Very true, they were very creative in using anything to get the costumes and the films done
There are scenes where either rebel troopers ran out of footwear or forgot to change and wore their platform footwear (in the awards ceremony in ANH).
That’s just one example
In the picture above the scene only lasted a few seconds so making everyone exactly the same was probably not a priority _________________ Imperial Inner Circle

Looking at the last of the 3 pictures, I noticed something interesting. Where the gunners are blown out of their seats, it looks like the Gunners are wearing the silver officer boxes on their belts. It's not conclusive but there are hints that the Gunners are wearing what look like the belt boxes, which are allowable optional items in the crl. _________________ Paul Khoo

Good eye!
Also in this off duty shot you can see that Grant McCune (gunner) is wearing belt boxes as he pals around with Joe Johnson the Death Star Trooper
Thanks for bringing this up, I just noticed that this picture was not in my CRL folder so I’ve added it there
Excellent more evidence that we can wear belt boxes!
We can also apparently wear black loafer shoes :p (and no gloves)
Check it out, in both shots his combox is facing backwards, they do tend to spin if not anchored right

Found this item. Someone took there Vader suit and made it a two piece with tunic and pants. I'm wondering if we were to reverse the tunic (back is front / front is back) and took the zipper the rest of the way to the bottom, throw some shoulder cogs on there......instant jacket???? Only problem I could see is the back of the collar dipping too far (as it's really the front). Thoughts????

Just a few
I like the direction you are going with this
Jacket images are few and far between. They tend to be side shots or the front of the jacket is covered by armor or a box so it's hard to tell
In some images the jackets look relatively smooth, like this one, as far as I know this was the only jacketed gunner ever approved by the legion.
Some close ups of T-Rats jacket

Other movie references have the quilting on the arms but appear to be flat on the chest and back. Its hard to tell, pictures of those areas are few and far between.
If anyone has the visual reference that these came from they might be able to illuminate it more
Here the gunner has ribbed arms but the other gunner bending over might have smooth arms
Your idea should work if the collar went all the way around and the zipper was hidden somehow. Im just not sure about ribbing being on the chest and I would hate for someone to buy one of these and get turned down by his or her GML _________________ Imperial Inner Circle

True, true and true
In some of the shots it almost looks like they're just wearing Vader body suits with a front / rear "bib" armor (like an actual flak vest) pulled over the top. It seems like the right edge of the bib is clearly visible in this photo. Then again who the hell knows.....

The one in front is wearing one, but not the one bending over, since the strap would be visible.
This show shows the flak vest a little clearer:
I'd love to have one of those jackets. It would be great for winter troops _________________ Moff Drew

I'm wondering if we should make the pauldron an optional piece of equipment for the jacketed gunner. Otherwise we are going to have 8 armor variants _________________ Imperial Inner Circle

I thank my stars that I don't have to do the Clone CRLS

I'm sure those are going to get worse as time goes on too.
Hmmm... does anyone know anyone in the Sith Lord detachment that makes the Vader jackets? I know some Vader's so maybe I'll ask around and see what comes back. _________________ Moff Drew
