Sorry, but those won't be acceptable for submission. Here's the excerpt from the CRL for the boots:
• Boots – black laceless calf high boots
- with either a buckle at the top or buckle less
- German Jack boot style are most canon
- Equestrian style and other similar boots are accepted
- for the non-armored gunner black laceless shoes are worn
This forum has a lot of pictures of the canon boots. You'll want to have something that looks very close to the boots in that thread.

Here's a link to the thread of possible boot sources, depending on inventories at the time.

Hope this helps! _________________ Moff Drew

You can also Google: Fred's East Meets West. They are an Ebay store and sell some boots that match the CRL requirements. Not sure if they have your size but they treated me well. _________________ Chris Forbes / 4239 / SCG / IE Squad

I'm glad you asked, I have had a few GMLs come to me and ask if rain boots were acceptable because people were trying to get in with them.
Now this lets people know definitively that they can not.
I will be honest, boots were the hardest part of the costume to get for me and I nearly didn't have them for my second (yes second) event :/
But the good news is you have a whole detachment of people who will help _________________ Imperial Inner Circle

I would have to say those boots fail for having a zipper on the inner calf. Maybe they did a great job at hiding the zipper, but for that price, I'm going to guess they didn't. And vinyl boots might stand out from the rest of the costume (and not necessarily in a good way). _________________ Moff Drew

yeah the vinyl bots tend to be useless.. One of the 501st members here locally had a pair fail on him while he was putting them on for his first trooping in them ( zipper came off in his hand) .. i jsut wanted to be sure so i could steer clear from them.. _________________ http://twistedxknights.mybrute.com |

Thanks for the warning about them falling apart!
Several have had good experience with the Trident boots though _________________ Imperial Inner Circle

Quite a few NEG members have these boots:
http://www.911buycostume.com/Pages/gogoboots/boot01.htm
Scroll down to the second boot. I've had mine for the last two years, and aside from a scuff where I kicked some plywood playing Lazer Tag in costume (long story), they've held up fantastically. _________________ Adam Scott
